The English Language

Hello!
Do you know how and why the English language has become a global language? Well, here I am going to try to sum it up in five sentences.

1)      Trough history the island England has been visited by many different people who came with their own language, in which formed the English language. Some of these people was the romans, the Christians and the Vikings, but William Shakespeare formed the English language too even though he lived in England.

2)      When the English people traveled and claimed other countries they also picked up other words, and they expanded their language. Example is when they came to Caribbean and they got the word canoe.

3)      The English language has gone from whole difficult words in latin and Greek like Maximus to foreshortening like brb (be right back) and btw (bye the way) in just English. This has happened because it`s become a bigger need for short concrete words to communicate.

4)       In the 1700 scientist weren`t popular because many of their studies showed that the church were wrong, but as the scientist discovered more they also had to come up with words for what they had discovered, and therefore the English language have a lot of words from science as the scientist realized that they didn`t need to speak in latin when they spoke science.

5)      If we look at why the English language is global right now we can see it is because the whole world has become more globalized and most people in the world can speak English, therefore we use English when we communicate with people from other parts of the world.

The Road

As I walk this empty road.
I
hear an excavator, but I can only see tall trees.
The
asphalt becomes a gravel road.
And
the wind is blowing in hair.
I smell
grass and chilly air.

As I look down I see leaves on the ground.
In
the tall trees the leaves are changing colors.
The
autumn has begun.
And I
see turnips and bushes and stinging nettle.
Behind the
turnips it is many bushes growing into each other.

I look down so I don`t trip.
The
stones are loose and some are big.
The
road is wide and long.
And I have
walked this empty road for a while now.
I
see a creek and hear it gurgle.

The road takes me from the school to the forest.
When the wind plays with
my hair I look up.
And
what I see is a blue sky.
There
is only a few cotton clouds on the sky.
And it
seems like they are floating.

A parenting qoute

«It kills you to see them grow up. But I guess it would kill you quicker if they didn`t» - Barbara Kingsolver (1955-), American writer. Animal Dreams (1991)

I think the important message in this qoute is that parents always want their children to be theirs «little daughter» or son, and eventhough it hurts them to see their children grow up and have a life on their own, not needing their parents as much anymore, it would hurt them more if their child died young. Because parents want their children healthy, safe and happy.

So this qoute only shows that parents care very much about their children and that is good, because children need love from some they can look up to: their parents. And I think if parents experience their childs death a part of them die to.

A trip to Jotunheimen

Hello!

From 26.08.14 to 29.08.14 i was on a trip to Jotunheimen with my class, it was very fun and I learned a lot :)
On tuesday the 26th we met up at School before we took the bus to Lillehammer were we had the first long stop that day, the next stop was in hell - Yeah you read right, we were in hell! but not the hell you think of when you think of hell, it is not like hell in religious stories or in Supernatural, this hell is big potholes called hell. Here is a Picture:

On wednesday we went for rafting in the river Sjoa and we went into an ice tunnel. I think this was the best day because I really did enjoy the rafting. I was a little nervous before we got into the water, but as soon as we were in the river it was just fun - it was fun even when I fell into the water! - the ice tunnel is actually handmade and when you get inside it is many passageways I walked in and saw arrows and textiles from 3000 - 4000 years back - it was very intresting. - so this was a marvellous day :) This day we slept at Bøverdalen hostel.

On thursday went we up to Galdhøpiggen, which is Norways tallest mountain, it is  2469m (8,100ft) above sea Level. It was a nice, but steep trip.

Friday was a drivingday, we drove all the day, with only two stops, one long in Fagernes and one short in Hønefoss, and then we were home around 16:30.
