The English Language

Hello!
Do you know how and why the English language has become a global language? Well, here I am going to try to sum it up in five sentences.

1)      Trough history the island England has been visited by many different people who came with their own language, in which formed the English language. Some of these people was the romans, the Christians and the Vikings, but William Shakespeare formed the English language too even though he lived in England.

2)      When the English people traveled and claimed other countries they also picked up other words, and they expanded their language. Example is when they came to Caribbean and they got the word canoe.

3)      The English language has gone from whole difficult words in latin and Greek like Maximus to foreshortening like brb (be right back) and btw (bye the way) in just English. This has happened because it`s become a bigger need for short concrete words to communicate.

4)       In the 1700 scientist weren`t popular because many of their studies showed that the church were wrong, but as the scientist discovered more they also had to come up with words for what they had discovered, and therefore the English language have a lot of words from science as the scientist realized that they didn`t need to speak in latin when they spoke science.

5)      If we look at why the English language is global right now we can see it is because the whole world has become more globalized and most people in the world can speak English, therefore we use English when we communicate with people from other parts of the world.
